Tennis Over/Under Totals’ Betting

As with the Handicap Betting, the Over/Under Betting focuses on the set and games’ plays. For example, you can bet on whether a match will end over or under 3.5 sets. On the other hand, you can bet on whether the match will end over or under 30.5 games.
This can be a great way to bet if you are having a hard time deciding which player will win the match. In these cases, it would be better to bet the Over in both total sets and total games. It doesn’t matter which player wins. If the match is close, your bet on the Over is likely to win.

If you expect a less talented player to beat a short-priced favorite one, go for the “Over”. Likewise, instead of betting on a short-priced favorite player to win very little odds, you can bet the match to finish in a quick time and receive more good odds. In such cases, it is wiser to bet on the “Under”.

Tennis Over/Under is a form of betting that has grown in popularity over time in Tennis.

Over/Under Betting on Total sets in Tennis

Let’s begin with total sets.
In this case, you can bet on the total number of sets played in a match to be either Over or Under 3.5. In other words, on a match ending in at least 3 sets (Under 3.5 sets) or on a match ending in at least 4 sets (Over 3.5 sets).

Let’s say Andy Murray plays Belgium’s David Goffin, who beat him to seal the British Davis Cup in 2015. Murray usually beats Goffin comfortably. Both men play a similar game, but Murray is a bit better across all departments, plus a lot bigger. In this example, we might expect Murray to comfortably finish the match again with no longer than 3 sets. In this case, we will be on Under 3.5 sets.
A related market, betting on the exact number of sets to be played in a given match, is provided by the majority of bookmakers.

Over/Under Set of a Total Games

Betting is not limited to total sets, as you can also bet on the total number of games that will be played through a match. Below, we can see an example of the total games in the market, with odds listed here by Y-SPORT for an upcoming match.

Here we have two options. We can either bet on the match finishing with Under 21.5 games played in the match, (21 matches at most) or we can bet on the match finishing with Over 21.5 games played in the match (at least 22 matches).
So, let’s say we are betting on a match between Serena Williams and Angelique Kerber, with the match ended at 6-1/4-6 /6-2. In this example, the match ended with a total of 25 games played. If we have a bet Over 21.5 games, our bet would be a winner. But if we had bet Under 21.5 games, we would have lost our bet.
